Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors represent a diverse cross-section of our community. The directors work diligently to assure that every donated dollar works to fulfill our mission.

    Diane, and her husband Clark, were co-founders of Heartfelt Connections in 2002. After their daughter, Corina, was killed in an automobile accident, they recognized the need within the Seward community for support of parents who had lost a child. Diane was part of the Children’s Memorial task force and serves Heartfelt Inc. as a facilitator for monthly Heartfelt Connections meetings, and is the chairperson of the Heartfelt Fore Good Grief Golf Tournament. Diane has a long history in business management, she is currently the office manager for A4K Enterprises. Diane and Clark have two children, Corina in heaven and Nathan. They have four grandchildren.

    Chris has a great passion for fulfilling the mission of Heartfelt Inc. She brings extensive experience in business to the board, having operated The Goldworks Jewelry Store in Lincoln for 33 years. She volunteered with Nebraska Special Olympics for 20 years as an Area Coordinator and Sports Coach. She is currently the coordinator of the Heartfelt Inc./Peoples City Mission Toss Box program. Chris has 2 daughters, Rhonda and Andrea and granddaughter Charlie Marie.

    Jana and her husband, John have been on the Heartfelt Incorporated Advisory Board since 2013. A lifelong resident of the Seward community, Jana has been active in community service since her youth, she is the co-chair for the Heartfelt Wicked Women’s 5K Run. She has served as the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Seward Jr. Women’s Club, President and Treasurer of the St. John Parent Teacher League and is currently serving on the Seward County 4-H Council. Jana has an Industrial Engineering degree from Texas A&M and previously worked in consulting before she took “early retirement” to be the engineer of the Hughes household. John is president of Hughes Brothers, Inc., a leader in the electric transmission and distribution industry. The Hughes family includes their children Lena, Anna, and Hank.

    Brad is the owner of Zabka Funeral Home in Seward. Through his work as a funeral director, Brad has gained insight into the devastating loss that families experience when their child dies. He brings to Heartfelt extensive knowledge and commitment to community service at the local, state and national levels. He has served as President of the Seward Rotary Club and the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association, as well as holding offices in the Seward Chamber of Commerce, Seward Ambassadors, and the Seward Youth Community Club. Brad and his wife, Jill, have two daughters, Macy and Makena.

    Blane and Nan Steckly live west of Milford, where Blane farms. Nan has worked at Jones Bank in Seward for over 10 years. They joined the Heartfelt group in 2012 after they lost their oldest, a daughter, Jessica to illness. They enjoy the comradery that Heartfelt provides. They have 4 other children: Rachel, Olivia, Aaron and Vanessa and 2 grandsons. They both enjoy helping in different ministries and boards at Hillcrest E Free Church in Seward. They also love to travel when they can.

    Conna brings her experience in communications, marketing publications and web marketing to the board. She actively promotes and collects items for the Heartfelt Incorporated/People's City Mission Toss Box project and recently volunteered for the task of maintaining the Heartfelt website. The Nebraska Children’s Home Society is another passion of hers where she enjoys event planning and volunteering. Conna has worked in the insurance industry her entire career, currently in the area of regulation and compliance. Conna lives in Lincoln with her husband Matt and daughter Addyson, and enjoys reading and traveling in her spare time.
